4 Summer Skin Prep Must Haves

Our favourite natural skincare for getting our skin ready for summer

As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, it's time to start thinking about our summer skincare routine. Just like swapping out our cosy sweaters for breezy sundresses, our skin needs a little extra care and attention to get ready for the sunny season. Summer can be harsh on our skin with its intense sun, heat, and humidity, so prepping now can help keep your complexion glowing and healthy all season long.

To help you get summer-ready, we've rounded up our favourite natural skincare products we swear by come spring. Our picks not only protect and nourish your skin but also embrace the goodness of nature, ensuring you look and feel your best. Whether you're hitting the beach, enjoying a picnic, or just soaking up the sunshine, our team picks are your ultimate guide to radiant summer skin. So grab a refreshing drink, sit back, and let's dive into our must-haves for summer skincare prep!

A summer exfoliator for face and body

"My June summer prep team favourite has to be Terre Verdi's CocoaBamboo Exfoliating Clay Mask, this can be used on face or body which is great as I love a multi tasking product!

It leaves the skin hydrated, smooth, boosts circulation and smells just like chocolate, yum! You can also buy this product in a travel size too which is perfect to take on holiday with you." Lolly

To soothe the skin after you've been in the sun

" Coraline Botanical Balance, is a calming facial tonic that is a beauty to use before your morning face oil and it's especially useful to soothe your skin after being out in the wind and sun. Its Rose & Spearmint hydrosol waters are cooling and the Lavender and Aloe vera are calming. It gives you a lovely lift and encourages feelings of confidence and self acceptance." Suzie

For soft, hydrated lips

"Many think of lip balm in the winter months but for me it’s year round and even more so in the summer as protecting the lips from the summer sun is equally important. I’m finishing up my Silvan Anise lip balm and my next one will be Citrus. To be honest, I’ve tried them all: Vit E, Citrus, Mint and Anise and the combination of hydrating organic cocoa butter with nourishing vitamin e and jojoba, papaya and apricot oils create a 100% plant-based delight for the lips which for me is so important. I don’t have to worry about ingesting any nasties and keep my lips plump, hydrated and naturally glossy too. The easy to carry tins are recyclable or make great lil travel containers once washed and sterilised, no plastic! They last me forever as such a little is needed hence a must-have summer essential for me!" Rebeka

To support flaky, shedding skin

"Around March or April, my skin starts shedding as if it's willing new skin to come through. It's particularly obvious on my legs, sometimes flaking through my tights! To help support my skin flakiness and then build up a good level of hydration for summer when it's likely to dry out in the heat, I like to start going for a richer body oil and my favourite at the moment is the Haoma Vitalise Body Oil. It's got a base of balancing safflower oil, vitamin E rich apricot oil and castor oil which helps reduce inflammation and I also find that it helps prevent ingrown hairs on my legs. I like the essential oils that Enis (who makes Haoma) has chosen, especially the grapefruit and peppermint to energise the skin and add a cooling note to hot, swollen feet after a long summers day" Karen
