A brightening skincare ritual with jade roller massage using Odylique's organic skincare products

We created this skin brightening ritual you can do everyday using Odylique's gentle, natural skincare products. It's ideal if you have sensitive skin and are looking to brighten your complexion and drain away toxins using a jade roller. You can recreate it at home and save over £35!

Before starting the ritual, we like to set an intention using one of Haoma's Aromatherapy Mood Rollers  to help us remove distractions and truly focus on the ritual. This time, I used the Purity roller which helps you to feel wholesome. 

First Cleanse

Every good skincare routine starts with a double cleanse and the Odylique one is great if you don't like to use products that are too heavy/oily yet will still remove daily dirt and make up at the end of the day. 

We chose the Silk Touch cleanser for the first step because it is the richest of the Odylique cleansers. When you dispense it from the pump bottle, it's a thick sticky gel. Massage that on to your dry skin, working in small circles starting at the chin and working outwards and upwards on each section of your face to ensure a thorough cleanse. 

Next, take some water and splash it on to your face and you'll see that the cleanser is starting to transform in to a milk. This helps to sweep away the dirt and grime. If you're not a fan of, or don't have time to do a double cleanse, the Silk Touch cleanser is a good option because it's like a 2 in 1. 

The gel consistency is made possible thanks to non-palm derived plant-based glycerine combined with sunflower and castor oils to lift dirt without stripping the skin. Lavender and ylang ylang essential oils have been adding for a calming effect on skin and soul. 

You can choose to splash this cleanser off or remove it with a warm, damp face cloth. 

Second Cleanse

In our second cleanse of this ritual we chose to use their Lemon and Tea Tree wash. It's our bestseller from the Odylique range and is great at giving you a deep but gentle cleanse. It's particularly popular with oily, combination and spot-prone skin types because its antibacterial, but again, has a slight emulsifying effect when massaged in and rinsed off that means it's non-drying and therefore won't strip your sebum away. 

The lemon scent, not only gives you an uplifting mood-boost but lemon essential oil has slight brightening properties, leaving your skin cleansed and reinvigorated! Again, you can splash this one off if using as a daily, express cleanse, or with a face cloth for a more conscious, slow ritual. 

Spritz of mist

To rebalance the skin after cleansing, add a little hydration and prep the skin for applying the Maca Face Mask, we used the Citrus Tonic which is a sweet, citrussy blend of hydrosols and essential oils to brighten and soften the skin. We also used it to mix up our powder face mask in the next step! 

Maca and Clay Face Mask

This powder face mask is a blend of 2 different clays to detoxify and deliver minerals to the skin. It's also got Maca root extract which is full of essential amino acids and a minty hit of essential oil that has a cooling and tightening effect on the skin. 

I mixed a teaspoon of the mask with a liberal amount of the citrus tonic (you can also use water) and applied a thin layer with a face mask brush. While the mask was working its magic I did a very quick handcare ritual, keeping the mask nice and moist using the mist so that it didn't dry out my skin by drying too quickly. 

Hand Care Ritual

To brighten and soften the skin on my hands, I took a generous dollop of Coconut Candy Scrub and worked the poppy seed and coconut sugar mix into the tops of my hands, in any dry cracks between my fingers and paid special care to my cuticles. I then washed it off with warm water before slathering on some Lavender hand cream which made me feel super relaxed. The great thing is that both of these products can be used all over the body. 

When you're ready, remove the face mask with a warm, damp cloth

Facial Massage with Jade Roller

Odylique's Superfruit Concentrate is a blend of sea buckthorn, rosehip, avocado and pomegranate oils, making it a fantastic partner for any facial massage ritual, including with a jade roller. 

Apply around half a pipette's worth of serum to your face and neck. Working it in so that it is applied evenly across the face but it's not fully absorbed as you'll need the slip on your skin for a smooth facial roller routine. 

Taking your jade facial roller, start at your collar bone on one side of the body and roll the wider roller head up to the jawline. Repeat each of the moves several times, until you feel ready to move to the next section of your face. You can even do shorter movements on areas where you feel the most tension. 

Roll along the jawline and follow the curve under your cheekbone. Switch to the smaller roller head to sweep under the eye bone and over the brow bone. For the forehead you can use either size of roller depending on what feels comfortable to you. 

Finish the ritual by sweeping the roller down from the jawline to the collar bone. Switch to the other side of your face and repeat. 

Moisturise and protect

We locked in the hydration from the Superfruit Serum with 1 pump of Timeless Rose Moisturiser and a pea sized amount of Mineral SPF 30 which we massaged across the face and neck.
