Because it is grown in extremely hot and dry terrains, aloe vera is useful in helping to retain moisture in the skin so is good for calming hot or dehydrated skin. It's also a fantastic anti-ageing ingredient because of its vitamin A content which diminishes dark spots and encourages cell turnover. Also helpful for minimising the signs of pigmentation is aloin, a natural de-pigmenting compound. The vitamins B, C and E also help to stave off oxidative stress, improve radiance and smooth the skins texture.
It can be used in several forms including powder or juice made from its leaves.
